We are aware that some HOA's are unaware of the law or simply try to defy individual solar rights. GismoPower has received FSEC 203-17 certification as a "PORTABLE, UNMOUNTED" PV system on January 13th 2022 and we have been encouraged by our inspiring cooperation with Intertek. It looks like we will be able to certify the MEGA as a grid-tied, electricity generating appliance, which does not need to adhere to local building codes due to the wheels and the possibility to be stored in a sheltered location during adverse weather conditions. Intertek confirmed that our system must adhere to local wind code requirements if we permit these systems as ground-mounted systems at locations without a storage option during adverse weather conditions.

Since the MEGA systems are designed as portable appliances using a 240V outlet with a standard 40A circuit breaker as connection to the electric grid , these devices are not part of the actual "building". 

Underwriters Laboratory is closely associated with the insurance industry and we expect that the UL-certification under their guidance will facilitate the insurance process separate from the homeowners insurance policies similar to a portable generator.

PV systems located in the far Northern US are roughly 30% less effective than systems located in the Southern US, so one more MEGA rack can often compensate less optimal sunlight exposure.

If you do not have a shelter or garage available for storage during severe weather conditions, you would need sufficient space on your property to permit the system as a classic ground mounted PV system using asphalt or other ground anchors. The structure itself is designed to withstand high wind and snow loads in combination with an approved anchoring system.
